15-year-old Davie Balfour is about to receive a substantial inheritance when he is lured onto a cargo ship by his evil uncle Ebenezer, knocked unconscious, and kidnapped by him. Ebenezer then hatches a plan to sell Davie into slavery and profit from his enslavement. Davie will never see his inheritance.
