Gladiators

Gladiators is a British TV show that aired from October 10, 1992, to January 1, 2000. It was made by LWT for ITV. It is based on the American show American Gladiators. Due to the popularity of the British series, it was remade in Australia and Sweden. In 2008, the show was brought back, but it ended again in 2009. John Fashanu and Ulrika Jonsson used to host the show, but Fashanu was replaced by Jeremy Guscott in 1997. In 1998, Guscott left the show, and Fashanu came back for the last season in 1999. John Anderson was the referee for the series, and Andrew Norgate, Derek Redmond, and Eugene Gilkes were the timekeepers over the course of the show. The show had a commentator named John Sachs, and the cheerleaders for the show were called G-Force. Even though Gladiators, International Gladiators, the second series of The Ashes, and the first series of The Springbok Challenge were all made by London Weekend Television, they were all recorded at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham. The first series of The Ashes and the second series of The Springbok Challenge, on the other hand, were filmed on the sets of the Australian and South African versions of the shows, respectively. Gladiators: Train to Win, a version for kids, ran on CITV from 1995 to 1998.
