Doctor Finlay
Doctor Finlay is a British television series based on A. J. Cronin's Dr. Finlay-related short stories. This is a sequel to the successful BBC series Dr. Finlay's Casebook. The story takes place in the 1940s, after John Finlay's return from military service. Beginning plotlines include the establishment of the new National Health Service and the modernization of the medical practice at Arden House in Tannochbrae, Scotland. David Rintoul portrays Dr. Finlay, Ian Bannen plays his semi-retired practice partner, Dr. Cameron, and Annette Crosbie plays Dr. Finlay's housekeeper, Janet. Dr. Neil, Finlay's assistant, is portrayed by Jason Flemyng, while Dr. Napier, Finlay's new colleague, is portrayed by Jessica Turner. The series was recorded in Auchtermuchty, Fife, Scotland, and is a Scottish Television production. Masterpiece Theatre aired it in the United States.
