Tough Guys
Harry Doyle (Lancaster) and Archie Lang (Douglas) are two old-school train robbers who robbed a train in 1956 and have been in prison for thirty years. They are released from jail after serving their time and must adjust to a new life of freedom. When Harry and Archie are picking up their prison checks at a bank, they foil a robbery attempt, proving that they still have the swagger. Archie, who spent his prison time working out, has no trouble picking up a 20-year-old aerobics instructor. In contrast, Harry is forced to spend his days in a nursing home. They both harbor resentments: Archie for having to endure a humiliating job as a busboy, and Harry for having to deal with patronizing attitudes toward senior citizens. The two old friends return to what they know best. They decide to rob the same train they robbed thirty years ago after successfully robbing an armored car.
