Stalag 17
For the American POWs in Stalag 17, 1944 is a gloomy Christmas. One of the sergeants in Barracks 4 is dealing with a serious problem: there appears to be a security leak. Both Manfredi and Johnson, the most recent escapees, fell victim to a German trap set to prevent them from escaping. J.J. Sefton, a sleazy wheeler-dealer who trades things and privileges with the guards, is the obvious leaker for some in Barracks 4. It is evident that Sefton has no intention of ever escaping from the Germans, and he denies providing any intelligence to the Germans. Aside from spying for Germans, he wants to spend the rest of the war in whatever comfort he can manage to find.
