At Phoenix Progressive School, students take notes while lying on couches in the parlor. They can choose from classes like break-dancing and graphic-novel writing to show off their skills. Molly Maxwell doesn't feel very special in the midst of all the liberal education and new talent. Then she takes a photography class on her own with the help of her English teacher, Ben. Soon, Ben and Molly become more than friends in the darkroom. Molly learns about the joys of first love, and Ben's job is in jeopardy.
