GUNDA is pure cinema in its purest form. It shows the unfiltered lives of a mother pig, a flock of chickens, and a herd of cows. Using stark, transcendent black-and-white cinematography and the farm's ambient soundtrack, Master director Victor Kossakowsky invites the audience to slow down and experience life as his subjects do, looking at their world with a magical patience and an out-of-this-world perspective. GUNDA wants us to think about the mystery of animal consciousness and how people fit into it. Joaquin Phoenix was in charge of making the movie.
