Julien (Sami Frey), a charming and beautiful man, marries Barbara (Jane Birkin). Paul (Gérard Jugnot), Barbara's old flame, is skeptical of Julien. Julien's previous two marriages died in questionable circumstances, and he amassed a sizable insurance payout as a result.
