Peace Officer
As portrayed via the story of Dub Lawrence, a former sheriff who founded his rural state's first SWAT team only to witness the same unit shoot Dub's son-in-law in a contentious standoff 30 years later, Peace Officer is a documentary about the increasingly militarized status of American police. Animated by an obsession with his purpose, Dub employs his own investigative abilities to unearth the truth in this and other recent officer-involved shootings in his town, while also addressing broader questions about the changing face of peace officers across the country.
