Kung Fu Stuntmen
In a recently released documentary film, the anguish and tribulations that were endured by kung fu stuntmen and action directors in Hong Kong during the golden period of the genre in the 1960s and 1980s are revisited. This film pays homage to the stuntmen who have worked in kung fu films. According to the kung fu choreographer Yuen Bin, the performers "risked their lives for stunts." During the height of their careers, these stuntmen and choreographers delivered the best, most creative, and most complicated kung fu fight sequences anywhere in the globe. They were able to create stunts that gave the impression that they were physically impossible.
