Guest Artist
A legendary but troubled playwright named Joseph Harris travels to a sleepy hamlet in Michigan over the holiday season to stage his most recent production. A young aspiring writer introduces himself to a jaded New Yorker by challenging his literary idol to live up to the expectations he had for him as an icon. Harris has no interest in being the young man's hero and has no desire to be a part of Michigan or its small-town theater in any way, shape, or form. As soon as he arrives, Harris immediately begins making preparations to depart for New York on the next available train. In a last-ditch effort to convince the hero to stay in town, the young man is forced to confront him and investigate the complex dynamic that exists between the ideals of youth and the experience of maturity.
