Natasha is the canteen manager in a top-secret Soviet scientific institute from the 1950s. This is the hub of the DAU universe; it is here that everyone congregates: institute personnel, scientists, and visiting foreign guests. Natasha's world is a limited one, divided between the canteen's demands during the day and alcohol-fueled nights with her younger coworker Olga, during which the two reveal their ambitions for romance and a new future.
