Webster
Webster aired on ABC from September 16, 1983 to May 8, 1987, and in syndication from September 21, 1987 to March 10, 1989. Silver created the series. Emmanuel Lewis plays a little child whose NFL-pro godfather and socialite wife adopt him after he loses his parents. The plot centered on how an impulsively married couple adjusted to parenting, although Webster drove much of it. Georgian Bay, Emmanuel Lewis Entertainment Enterprises, and Paramount Television produced the series. Webster, like NBC's Diff'rent Strokes, featured an adoptive black youngster.
