Watership Down

Richard Adams' novel Watership Down, which was loosely converted into an animated television series, is called Watership Down. Martin Rosen, who directed the 1978 feature picture adaption, produced and directed this joint venture between Alltime Entertainment in the UK and Decode Entertainment in Canada. Three seasons of Watership Down were broadcast on CITV in the UK but not on YTV in Canada, totaling 39 episodes and three series between 1999 and 2001. British actors Stephen Fry, Rik Mayall, Phil Jupitus, Jane Horrocks, Dawn French, John Hurt and Richard Briers were among those who appeared in the movie. Art Garfunkel's "Bright Eyes" was reworked by Stephen Gately and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, with Mike Batt providing the original score and Stephen Gately performing the new arrangement. They were all nominated for a Gemini Award in 2003 for their work on the show's original music compositions, including Eric Robertson, David Greene, and Mike Batt. VHS tapes and DVDs of selected episodes of the television version were made available. In October 2005, a Region 2 DVD box set of all three series was released in the United Kingdom.
