Michael Allcock hosts the 30-minute 2007 documentary-style television series Urban Legends. In 2011, David Hewlett became the new host. In each episode, three urban legends are dramatized and presented to the viewing audience, who are then asked to determine which one or two are true. Every mythology has witnesses who recount the tale. In one or two false stories, the witnesses are actors, whereas in the authentic legend, the witnesses are actual individuals impacted by the story. Before the commercial breaks, each episode includes two mini-myths, which are brief quiz-like stories. Each will begin with the number and name of the mini-myth, followed by the tale. Following the commercial, the solution to the mini-myth is revealed, and the remainder of the program resumes as before. Mark Dolan originally presented the program on the Biography Channel in the United States, History Television in Canada, and FX in the United Kingdom. In addition to Argentina, New Zealand, Sweden, Norway, Australia, Finland, Estonia, The Netherlands, Russia, Hungary, and Denmark, the program has also aired in these countries. The series briefly returned to the Syfy network as a "Original Series" with new episodes beginning on Monday, April 18, 2011, before returning to its regularly scheduled time slot on Fridays at 10 p.m. The new episodes followed the exact same style as the original, but were narrated by David Hewlett from Stargate. Both SyFy and Chiller currently occasionally air repeats and marathons of the show.
