UFO Hunters is an American television series that began on The History Channel on January 30, 2008 and ran for three seasons. It was produced by Motion Picture Production Inc. Jon Alon Walz was the show's Executive Producer and was responsible for selling the series to History Channel following a bidding war between History Channel and Sci-Fi Channel for the show's rights. The show's premise was tested in a portion of the History Channel's 2006 UFO special "Deep Sea UFOs," which was produced by Motion Picture Production Inc and featured two of the show's final four cast members. It was not a continuation of a 2005 History Channel special with the same name. The show's tagline is: Hoax or History? The series should not be confused with a similarly themed and titled Sci-Fi Channel special titled UFO Hunters, which premiered on the same day and time as Ghost Hunters but broadcast only one episode. History Channel has only released the first two seasons on DVD in the correct airdate order in the United States. However, the format was only made available in full screen, not wide screen. History Channel published the third and final season on DVD in the United Kingdom, but the episodes were released out of airdate order.
