'Deep Rooted Tree' is a South Korean television series that premiered in 2011 and starred Jang Hyuk, Shin Se-kyung, and Han Suk-kyu among others. It aired on SBS from October 5 to December22,2011, on Wednesdays and Thursdays at21:55, based on the novel of the same name by Lee Jeong-myeong. There were 24 episodes total. The series, which takes its title from the poem Yongbieocheonga, which states that trees with deep roots do not sway, tells the story of a royal guard who investigates a case involving the serial murders of Jiphyeonjeon scholars in Gyeongbok Palace during the time when King Sejong is attempting to establish the Korean written language in the palace.
