An ensemble cast portrays the intricate world of drugs, their delivery, and the attendant violence in Traffic: The Miniseries, a three-part feature on USA Network in2004. The great variety of people whose lives are affected by it all. B.C.'s Kamloops, Ashcroft and Cache Creek were used as stand-ins for Afghanistan in the miniseries' production. Traffik, a British television drama broadcast in1989, and Steven Soderbergh's film Traffic, released in2000, served as inspirations. A total of three Emmy nominations were given to the American adaptation. It was written and directed by Eric Bross and Stephen Hopkins, with Ron Hutchinson serving as the showrunner. the primary actors are: Tony Musante (lead), Cliff Curtis (second lead), Martin Donovan (third lead), Balthazar Getty (third lead), Mary McCormack (second lead), Ritchie Coster (fourth lead), and Nelson Lee (third lead).
