Tin Man is a 2007 four-and-a-half-hour miniseries co-produced by RHI Entertainment and Sci Fi Channel original movies. Part 1 aired on December2, and parts 2 and 3 followed. On March 11, 2008, it was released on DVD and rebroadcast in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand. The miniseries stars Zooey Deschanel, Neal McDonough, Alan Cumming, Raoul Trujillo, Kathleen Robertson, and Richard Dreyfuss. It follows DG, a small-town waitress who is transported into a magical realm controlled by Azkadellia. DG ventures with Glitch, Raw, and Cain to find her true parents and stop Azkadellia's attempt to lock the O.Z. in endless darkness. The first half of the $20 million miniseries had 6.4 million viewers, making it the highest-rated program in its timeslot and the highest-rated miniseries of 2007. It was nominated for nine Emmys and won one. Critics gave it mixed reviews, with some appreciating the acting, soundtrack, and visual effects and others finding it too dismal and bleak.
