Tiger & Bunny is a 2011 Japanese anime television show made by Sunrise and directed by Keiichi Satou. The screenplay was written by Masafumi Nishida, and Masakazu Katsura designed the characters. The series started airing in Japan on April 3, 2011 on Tokyo MX. It was then shown again on BS11 and MBS, and it ended on September 17, 2011. Viz Media is also streaming the series at the same time on Hulu and Anime News Network. It takes place in a futuristic city where heroes fight crime while promoting real-life sponsors. It focuses on two heroes, the veteran "Wild Tiger" and the newbie "Barnaby Brooks Jr.," who are forced to work together by their bosses. On August4,2011, Masakazu Katsura's one-shot manga was published in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine. In November2011, at a special event, it was announced that two movies would be made based on the series. The first film, titled Gekij-ban Tiger & Bunny -The Beginning, came out on September 22, 2012. Gekij-ban Tiger & Bunny -The Rising-, the second film, will come out in February 2014.
