ThunderCats is a Japanese-American animated TV show made by Ethan Spaulding and Michael Jelenic. ThunderCats is a remake of a 1980s TV show with the same name. It was made by Warner Bros. Animation and Studio 4°C, and it uses both western and Japanese animation styles. On July 29, 2011, Cartoon Network showed the first hour of the show. After the kingdom of Thundera was destroyed, the ThunderCats were forced to roam the planet Third Earth to find a way to stop Mumm-Ra, an evil sorcerer who wants to take over the universe. The series tries to tell a much darker and more cinematic story than the original show. It also focuses a lot more on the characters and deals with more complex ideas. ThunderCats was supposed to have 52 episodes, but early in2013, the show's art director, Dan Norton, said that the show was over after only one season. Later, the show was shown again on the Toonami block of Adult Swim.
