The Spectacular Spider-Man

The Spectacular Spider-Man is an American animated television series based on the Marvel Comics superhero character created for television by Greg Weisman and Victor Cook. The tone and style of the series are mostly based on Stan Lee and Steve Ditko's original stories, with a similar combination of action, drama, and humour, as well as a high school setting. It does, however, use material from all eras of the comic's existence as well as other sources such as the film series and the Ultimate Spider-Man comics. The Spectacular Spider-Man launched on The CW's Kids' WB programming block on March8,2008, to tremendous praise. In the United States, the series aired its second season on Marvel's sister network, Disney XD, and finished its run on November18,2009, getting positive critical notice. Although a third season was planned, the show was canceled before production could begin.
