The Slave Hunters is a 2010 South Korean action historical drama set in the Joseon Dynasty about a slave hunter who is on the trail of a general-turned-runaway slave while also looking for the woman he loves. It aired on KBS2 from January 6 to March 25, 2010 at 21:55 on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The series' aesthetic and intellectual appeal was enhanced by a sufficient display of physical brawn, complicated yet realistic action scenes, bawdy comedy, and poetic moments of tragedy and humanity. Critics praised filmmaker Kwak Jung-sumptuous hwan's cinematography, which used a Red One camera to give each scene a theater-worthy sheen. The blockbuster series topped the ratings chart for seven weeks in a row, averaging 31.7 percent and peaking at 35.9 percent. The series received nominations for the Seoul International Drama Awards and the KBS Drama Awards. Jang was also nominated for best actor at the 2011 International Emmy Awards for his performance.
