Anna Macy left Kettering when she was 14 years old, shortly after her best friend, Gillian Baxter, unexpectedly vanished. When the two young women looked up, they noticed that there were some unusual lights in the sky above the woodland that was located outside of Kettering. After eight hours, Anna was located all by herself, shaking with fear, and covered in blood. Anna returns after 15 years to find the village battling to survive. The woodlands have been designated for logging, and the town is being torn apart by passionate but violent fights between environmentalists and local loggers.
