The Joy of Painting
The Joy of Painting was a popular American television show that taught viewers how to paint landscapes with oil. However, despite Ross's ability to paint a piece in 30 minutes, the show's purpose was not to educate viewers "fast painting". So as to teach viewers specific skills in the time provided, rather than simply demonstrating them, was his primary goal. There was a one-year hiatus between the premiere of the show on January 11, 1983 and the final episode on May 17, 1994, the day before Bob Ross died.
