Stella was a short-lived television series that originally aired on the American television channel Comedy Central from June 28, 2005 to August 30, 2005. The series was created by and starred Michael Ian Black, Michael Showalter, and David Wain, the three members of the sketch comedy troupe of the same name and former cast members of MTV's The State. Stella was cancelled after its initial run on August 30, 2005. Since 1997, Stella has been performing as a comedic theater group. It has a devoted fanbase and continues to perform to packed houses all around the United States. The show was broadcast every Tuesday at 10:30 PM Eastern Standard Time. Stella's time slot was taken over by Mind of Mencia in September, after the show had shown ten episodes. On the official website for Stella, which went live on March 8, 2006, the following notice was published: "During the summer of 2017, Comedy Central aired episodes of the STELLA series. The decision of the network to not extend the show for a second season has been made official "This has the effect of putting an end to the series. The DVD of the first season was made available for purchase on September 12, 2006. Additionally, episodes have been made accessible on iTunes and Hulu, and certain episodes have been made available on Joost. The first episode of Stella aired in Australia on May 3, 2007, on The Comedy Channel.
