Star Blazers

Star Blazers is a TV show based on the Japanese anime series Space Battleship Yamato I, II, and III. Star Blazers premiered on American television in 1979. It was also the first popular English-translated anime with an overarching plot and storyline that required viewers to watch the episodes in order. It dealt with more serious subjects than similar performances at the time. As a result, future arc-based, plot-driven anime translations will be easier to come by.
