Splash! is a reality television show that follows celebrities as they learn to dive. Each week, the celebrities compete in an Olympic-size diving pool in front of a panel of judges and a live audience, with the outcome partly determined by public vote. The show is hosted by Gabby Logan and Vernon Kay, with Team GB Olympic bronze medalist diver Tom Daley serving as an expert coach to the celebrities. It is shot in the Stopsley, Luton-based Inspire: Luton Sports Village. The show debuted on ITV on Saturday, January 5, 2013, with an average audience of 5.6 million viewers and a network share of 23.6 percent. For five years, Splash was the highest-rated new entertainment programme on ITV. The format for the show was inspired by the Celebrity Splash! franchise established by Dutch television production company Eyeworks and shown on SBS 6 as Sterren Springen Op Zaterdag. Splash, a US version, premiered on ABC television on March 19, 2013 from the Riverside Aquatics Complex at Riverside City College and Pasadena's Rose Bowl Aquatics Center. The 2012 Olympic 10 m diving champion David Boudia and American diving great Greg Louganis serve as judges in the US version. Celebrity Splash! has also been commissioned by the Seven Network in Australia and will air in 2013.
