Spider-Man: The New Animated Series

On July11,2003, a new animated series based on the Marvel comic book superhero Spider-Man premiered in the United States, called Spider-Man: The New Animated Series. There were thirteen episodes in the first season. Essentially, it's a sequel to Sam Raimi's Spider-Man, which came out in 2002. MTV and YTV both aired the show, which was developed utilizing computer generated visuals rendered in cel shading. In repeats on ABC Family eight months after the series finale, the episodes were part of the Jetix television programming block. There was a far more adult version of the character on the show than is common for an animated comic book adaption on television. Characters are slain outright rather than disappearing into thin air, and several characters are explicitly hinted to have had sex throughout the series.
