Sky King

Sky King is a radio and television adventure series in the United States. Schuyler "Sky" King is an Arizona rancher and pilot. The series was based on a true-life character from the 1930s, Jack Cones, the "Flying Constable" of Twentynine Palms in San Bernardino County, California, though this claim is unproven. Despite the series' heavy western aspects, King usually used his plane, the Songbird, to apprehend criminals and spies and to locate lost hikers. Though the planes utilized changed throughout the series, the subsequent model was not given a number and was remained known as the Songbird. King and his niece, Penny, lived on the Flying Crown Ranch in Grover, Arizona. Penny and Clipper were also pilots, albeit they were novice and relied on their uncle for advice and mentoring. Sky trusted Penny to fly the Songbird since she was a competent air racer and rated multi-engine pilot. Penny refers to Clipper as "my brother" in the third TV program, implying that they are siblings. Herschel Burke Gilbert composed the majority of the score.
