Second Thoughts was a British sitcom that aired from May 3rd,1991, until October 14th, 1994. It was produced by LWT and shown on ITV. Faith in the Future was released as a sequel. Second Thoughts featured the lives of two middle-aged divorcees, Bill MacGregor and Faith Greyshott, who came from quite different backgrounds and were trying to build a relationship despite the circumstances that were tearing them apart. The writers' real-life partnership, Jan Etherington and Gavin Petrie, was the inspiration for Second Thoughts. It first aired as a radio series on BBC Radio 4 between November1,1988, and July23, 1992. The radio series had four seasons and a Christmas special that aired in1992, totaling 31 episodes. The ITV television series was based on the radio scripts. The fifth series was regarded as less successful than the previous four, as it was the only one not based on the original radio scripts. Second Thoughts ended on October14,1994, but was rerun on ITV3 since then. BBC7 frequently replays the original radio series.
