Zack, Lawrence, Freddy, and Summer and Tomika are a group of rule-abiding students at a prep school. They learn to take risks and reach new heights thanks to their substitute teacher, Dewey Finn, a down-on-his-luck musician who uses the language of rock 'n' roll to inspire his class to form a secret band. During the course of the school year, these classmates of mine in middle school find themselves navigating relationships, uncovering abilities they didn't realize they had, and learning valuable lessons about friendship and loyalty.
