Two childhood friends assist each other through poverty, then reunite years later and help each other climb the social ladder. Kim In Sook's life is terrible after marrying a rich business family. In-laws see her as a gold-digging interloper and shun her. In Sook's mother-in-law takes her son after her husband's helicopter crash.
