Kotarou Tennouji, a high school student, resides in Kazamatsuri, a contemporary, well-developed city noted for its flourishing vegetation and rich Japanese culture. Content to fill his pockets with trifles, the conceited and nosy boy spends his time harassing the self-proclaimed criminal Haruhiko and indulging his romantic affections for the eccentric Kotori. Kotarou is inherently drawn to the supernatural due to his capacity to permanently rewrite any aspect of his body to increase his strength or speed. Kotarou resurrects the Occult Club by recruiting Kotori and four other members: the clumsy transfer student Chihaya, the strict class representative Lucia, and the unassuming Shizuru. This is the result of a special encounter with "Witch" Akane Senri, the sole member and president of the Occult Research Club. As Kotarou uncovers the secrets of each member of the Occult Club via their shared adventures, he will inevitably face a destiny that only he may be able to alter.
