Psi Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal is a Canadian science fiction drama television series that aired for four seasons from 1996 to 2000 and was filmed in and around Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Some viewers took the scripted drama more seriously than intended because Dan Aykroyd opened and closed every episode. In1997, the Committee for Skeptical Investigation, then called the Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Paranormal Claims, presented Aykroyd a "Snuffed Candle" award for "contributing to the public's lack of comprehension of scientific inquiry."
