Princess Ja Myung

Park Min-young and Jung Kyung-ho feature in the 2009 South Korean historical drama Ja Myung Go. At 21:55 every Monday and Tuesday from March 9 to July21,2009, it broadcast on SBS. To some extent, it's inspired by the traditional Korean folk tale about Prince Hodong and the Princess of Nakrang. A legendary drum known as the jamyeonggo, literally "the drum that beats by itself," was said to have the ability to autonomously raise an alert whenever an enemy invaded the kingdom, according to the narrative. The warrior state of Goguryeo, one of Nakrang's neighbors, was deterred from assaulting due to the drum's self-sounding. Hodong, a Goguryeo prince, snuck into Nakrang with the goal of smashing the drum. He had no idea that he had fallen in love with Nakrang's princess. The princess eventually decided to tear the drum in order to betray her kingdom because of her love. Because of this, her country was destroyed and she was slain. Prince Hodong wept as he cradled the body in his arms. The Nakrang Kingdom's princess's hidden sister, Ja-myung, is the personification of the drum in the drama series. In contrast to Ra-hee, Ja-myung, who survived a murder attempt and now lives as a commoner, is adored by her people. Prince Hodong of the Goguryeo Kingdom, an enemy of Nakrang's, is torn between two ladies and two countries, and he must choose between love and duty.
