In Spanish, Pulseras Rojas is the name of a popular Catalan television show. Originally broadcast in 2011, the show will return to TV3 in 2013 for a second season. Albert Espinosa, the show's creator, drew inspiration from his own background as a hospital patient. Espinosa has previously collaborated with director-producer Pau Freixas on the film Herois. Children and teens from Catalonia meet in the hospital's pediatrics section and form a close-knit community. Friendship, the drive to live, and the determination to triumph over adversity are all prevalent themes. Originally, the show was slated to last for four seasons, with the second season airing in January 2013. For an American adaptation of the French film Polseres Vermelles, Steven Spielberg's DreamWorks and Marta Kauffman signed an agreement with TV3 in October 2011. Antena 3 aired the inaugural season of Pulseras rojas, a Spanish translation of the show, in the summer of 2012. TV3 confirmed the debut date for its second season on December 11th, 2012. The dubbed version will air on Antena 3 later this year.
