Pets

Pets is a British puppet sitcom for adults that is created by Fit2Fill Productions Limited. It was initially broadcast on Channel 4 and ran for two seasons, the first in 2001 and the second in 2002. Additionally, Fox in Australia, MTV in Italy, and the Middle East purchased it. Andrew Barclay and Brian West created and wrote the series. They had previously collaborated at the Edinburgh Festival, where they won an award for an advertisement for The Jerry Springer Show, and on the sketch show We Know Where You Live. There were 26 episodes of Pets, each lasting around 11 minutes. They were aired in the wee hours of the morning, and as a result, the series was relatively obscure, despite gaining a considerable cult following. On the official website, there was a call for Pets to be published on DVD. A limited edition DVD was eventually made available for purchase on the official website. The DVD also contained two unaired episodes, a clip show titled "The Trials of Hamish," and a behind-the-scenes special titled "The Making of Pets." A number of Pets episodes are presently accessible as a free podcast on iTunes. In 2010, BBC3 aired a similar program titled Mongrels, which sparked criticism. Although Pets had four major characters and Mongrels had five, the character ensembles of these two programs are very identical. In addition, the variety of locales in Mongrels is more than in Pets, which is limited to a single apartment.
