Macross Plus
Macross Plus is a theatrical film and a four-episode animation OVA in the Macross series. The first sequel to the original Macross television series that took place in the official timeframe was Macross II.... At the time of its debut, Plus represented a pioneering fusion of traditional cel animation and computer-generated imagery in Japanese animation, opening the door for further use of computer-generated imagery. Bandai Visual released the OVA series in Japan, while Manga Entertainment released the movie in North America and Europe. This DVD version was issued by Madman Entertainment as a sublicense from Manga Entertainment for the Australian VHS release. Several new mecha designs based on the original series are included.
