Janus
Janus is a 1994-95 ABC drama series. 26 episodes were produced in two series. Janus was a spin-off of ABC's Phoenix. Janus recounts the harsh prosecutions of a notorious criminal family, the Hennesseys, from the perspectives of the family, the police, and the attorneys, prosecutors, barristers, and judges engaged in all elements of the narrative. Four members of the Hennessey dynasty are acquitted of shooting two cops in a bank heist when the story begins. The city of Melbourne is startled when Mal and Steve, Darren Mack, and Ken Hardy go free. Many of the prosecutors, judges, magistrates, and police are based on real-life legal authorities. They are desperate to throw the Hennessey members in jail. But corruption, legal loopholes, delays, and scarce resources make jailing the gang difficult.
