This led to the second season, which CBC cancelled on April19,2012, due to budget cuts in the Canadian federal government's fiscal year 2012. "24 of Canada" was dubbed by one of the show's producers, while another writer described it as "CSI without the science; James Bond if James Bond were Mr. Bean." To avoid being too "narrow," the initial pilot concentrated on the tediousness of electronic eavesdropping. During a second test, the pilot used a more 24-hour strategy.
