Park Chan-Hong is a typical high school sophomore. His parents exert academic pressure on him, despite his writing ability. Park Chan-Hong has no clear goals or desires. He is buddies with Eom Se-Yoon, who also attends his high school. She is well-liked in her school community. Heo Don-Hyeok is also a classmate of Park Chan-Hong. Heo Don-Hyeok is uninterested in learning, and he works to meet his living expenses. One day, Heo Don-Hyeok protects Park Chan-Hong from a bully at school. Heo Don-Hyeok asks Park Chan-Hong to lend him 300,000 won ($270 USD) so that he can pay his rent. The money that he borrows from Park Chan-Hong was intended to cover his tuition at a private institute. Park Chan-Hong is currently without a place to go after school.
