The Disney Channel sitcom Good Luck Charlie premiered on April4, 2010. Phil Baker and Drew Vaupen devised the series to appeal to families rather than just youngsters. It's about a Denver family, the Duncans, adjusting to the births of Charlotte "Charlie" and Toby Duncan. In each episode, Teddy Duncan makes a video journal for Charlie with advise about family and adolescence. Teddy shows Charlie what she may face as an adult in video diaries. Each video journal finishes with "Good luck, Charlie" from Teddy. Executives added adult-centric sequences and changed the series name from Oops to Love, Teddy and then Good Luck Charlie to appeal to the whole family. Good Luck Charlie debuted on Disney Channel in April 2010. Premiered in Canada on April5,2010, UK and Ireland on May14,2010, and Australia and New Zealand on July23, 2010. Good Luck Charlie's second season began filming in August 2010 and premiered on February20, 2011. A feature-length Christmas Disney Channel Original Movie based on the series began production in March 2011 for a December 2011 premiere.
