Getting Together

Getting Together is an American musical-comedy-situation show that aired on the ABC network in 1971 and 1972. Bobby Sherman and Wes Stern play songwriters Bobby Conway and Lionel Poindexter. The pilot for the show had aired the previous spring on the last episode of the first season of The Partridge Family. It was called "A Knight in Shining Armor," and it was there that Lionel and Bobby met. Boyce and Hart, who wrote hits for The Monkees, Jay and the Americans, and other groups, may have been the inspiration for Sherman and Stern's characters. A lot of the same people who made the Partridge Family songs and records also worked on the new music for the show. Most of these songs came from Getting Together and Just For You, two albums by Bobby Sherman.
