Freddy's Nightmares
The American horror anthology series Freddy's Nightmares ran from October 1988 to March 1990 in syndication. Freddy Krueger presented each story in the Nightmare on Elm Street spin-off series. Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Tales from the Crypt and The Twilight Zone all used this format. There is a scene where Tobe Hooper's first episode begins with Freddy Krueger's dismissal of child-murder charges due to his officer's failure to check the Miranda warning at the time of his arrest. An angry crowd of parents finally subdues Freddy, who is then set on fire by the cop who had captured him, resulting in the emergence of the face we all know and love. the same people who brought you the "Alien" movies are behind this one. Lorimar-Telepictures originally distributed it. Following the acquisition of Lorimar-Telepictures, Warner Bros. Television would take over the syndication rights.
