Flipper
Ivan Tors Films and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Television collaborated on the production of the American television show Flipper, which debuted on NBC on September 19, 1964 and ran until April 15, 1967. Porter Ricks, the Chief Warden of the fictional Coral Key Park and Marine Preserve in southern Florida, and his two young sons, Sandy and Bud, have a pet bottlenose dolphin named Flipper. The program has been referred to as "aquatic Lassie," and during the first run of the program, a significant quantity of children's products with themes related to the program was manufactured.
