Masakazu Katsura wrote and illustrated the science fiction manga series DNA2. It was serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shnen Jump magazine between 1993 and1994, spanning five tankbon volumes. DNA2 was turned into a 12-episode anime television series that aired on Nippon Television from October7, 1994 to December23, 1994. This was followed by a three-episode anime original video animation in 1995. The anime series, produced by Madhouse and Studio Deen, was directed by Jun'ichi Sakata, with Kumiko Takahashi serving as character designer and animation director. DNA2 was televised in Japan by Animax, which also aired the series on its separate networks around the world, including its English-language networks in Southeast Asia and South Asia. Central Park Media licensed all 15 episodes in North America until its closure in 2009. The five books and box set are no longer available.
