Degrassi Junior High
Degrassi Junior High is a 1987-1989 CBC teen drama. The show chronicled a fictional school's kids. The series was praised for its compassionate and realistic representation of teen life's issues, including drug use, child abuse, teenage pregnancy, homosexuality, homophobia, racism, and divorce. Non-professional actors boosted the show's realism. Stacie Mistysyn, Neil Hope, Anais Granofsky, Sarah Charlesworth, and others starred in the series. Degrassi Junior High isn't a straight spinoff because the characters' names and familial situations were modified. Stephen Stohn, who eventually became Degrassi: The Next Generation's executive producer, was the episodes' legal counsel. The series was recorded at an unused Ontario school.
