The moniker "Da Ali G Show" refers to not one but two distinct satirical television shows that were both developed by the English comedian Sacha Baron Cohen and star his alter ego, the character Ali G. The first season of the show was broadcast on Channel 4 in the United Kingdom, while the second season was broadcast on HBO in the United States. The second season of the show aired under the title Ali G in da USAiii in the United Kingdom and Australia. In the series, Baron Cohen plays the role of three unconventional journalists: the main character, Ali G; a Kazakh named Borat Sagdiyev; and an Austrian named Brüno Gehard, who is gay. The three members of the group conduct interviews with people who are unaware that they are conducting the interviews and ask them ludicrous and outrageous questions. On July 23, 2005, HBO made the announcement that there would not be any further seasons of the show being produced. Ali G Indahouse, Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, and Brüno are the three films that Sacha Baron Cohen has produced since the end of the program in which he starred as all three of the characters he had created for it.
