Canal Road
On the Nine Network, Canal Road is a television drama series. Susan Bower, the series' producer, worked with authors Sarah Smith, John Ridley, and Dave Warner on the project; the series was directed by Kevin Carlin. It was shot in and around Melbourne at Channel Nine's GTV Studio 11 and on location. An estimated A$10 million was invested in creating the series. In 2008, the 13-episode series premiered on April 16th. It debuted to a mixed critical reviews and ordinary ratings, which were further eroded when the series was shifted to a later timeslot.... Only 360,000 people tuned in to Canal Road's seventh episode, but the eighth episode was nonetheless made available online. The remaining episodes of Nine's season were shown between August and December of 2008. An Australian DVD of Canal Road was released August 4, 2008.
